~Tea Walks -4~

Some of the livable property has been cut, cleared, and replanted with transplants since the last Tea Walks post.  It is fair to say the work will be perpetual. The trials and errors are continual always, but it has been a good study on my own strength so to speak.

Today I walked to my Grateful She’did It SHEd.  It is now a designated place to stop and have coffee or tea, so bright and early I made the trek.

The pathway has come along in growth.  It will need some more color and I am looking forward to decorating the Fall, which is my favorite time of the year.  The arduous clearing was worth it during this past season.

Having a good relaxing coffee/tea refreshment close by just seemed to make sense at the SHE’d.  It quickly became the coffee and tea spot to get fueled by without having to go back down the hill.  Set up with some wicker furniture, it now stands as a little getaway for my coffee.

SHE’d decor is still hanging about, and these past few months the decorations have grown in numbers.  I like to have something everywhere, and now since the clearing has been extending up and down the hill, more garden ornaments are popping up.  I will have to do a gathering before the winds or they will just be long gone.

So this path took me up to the landing where the flag will be flying one day.  After getting a cup of tea at the SHE’d I proceeded upward.

….and this is the view of this morning’s experience there.

It’s a nice view and the heat was gone.  In fact, later on, the fog rolled in.  A very nice relief to the triple digits we have been having.

Next, I went on a discovery mission.  A while back, I was told that there was a bench across the second bridge and I have never seen it, so today was the day.  This is the designated path to the bench.

…and I found it a few hundred feet away.

I brushed the seat off, sat, and then discovered the view of the mountain on the other side.   It is now called “Other Side Mountain”.

The view from the *other side*.

poison oak (1 of 1)

Poison Oak is all over but dying off finally.  It can still burn, itch and cause one to get hospitalized.  It is wise to educate one’s self to recognize it.

sprinkler (1 of 1)

Walking back,  the dang sprinklers came on and I guess that was a good sign of ending my jaunt and quite frankly after about 2 hours I was done.
So back down the hill, I went.  I lost the teacup on the way up but found it on the way back *tragedies of the tea walks*

Everything else has been going smoothly.  The walk brought me down by the veggies. The beans look really sad, but the squash is coming along.  Lemons are still cooking on this tree, and lavender has lasted longer than I thought it would.  Fall is here soon and the plantings are showing good signs of it.

All in all, it was a good day for this Tea Walk #4.  I count my blessing for this place.  The house is still being built, the yard is coming along and the husb has discovered the RV.  *grin*

Til next time…

What am I missing about the word “SHE’d”?

It’s a play on the word shed. Some of these are called She Sheds.
