~Garden Stuff~

Today was a prep for the rain.  This was a chance to get around the yard for debris clearing so it all doesn’t go into the gutter and clog up this place.  It is the first dark day since last Winter and I love the feeling of it, but I am wary of the mountain lions and bobcats in this weather, so Murray stayed inside.  I shot just a few photos to post here.

The arches are getting a good cut and you can see some of the blue skies that are still trying to peek through the clouds over the canyon.  I still have roses blooming.  They evidently liked being transplanted here in early Spring.

The lilies have amazingly not stopped growing and giving out flowers for months.  Even though the hot weather was overwhelming, they surprised me with growth in the shade.  They have a mystical essence here in the garden and I love the foliage they give off in all shades of green

Then, noticing the veggie garden needed some cutting back, this little guy was hanging out in my sage.  These little frogs are heard in the evening and don’t seem to be frightened or bothered by me getting close with the camera.

It always amazes me on the all the garden life that there is here.
A couple of days ago, I came upon this one.

Tarantulas are not one of my favorite things, but they have a bit of mystery in them in that they really don’t bother anyone.  They are just creepy to me.

And finally, this acorn was just sitting on one of the lily leaves after falling from the oak above it.  I am collecting them now to do who knows what with them in the crafts room.  I have buckets and yet I need more time between the potpourri and collecting all the seeds, etc.  to work on projects.  I am trying to get into the habit of picking and choosing, but I guess it works only sometimes.  Anyway, the day has slipped away, but not without the camera.  So thanks for coming in to share a little garden with me.

Til next time…

Thanks for the great pictures and the Garden Tour. I drove a truck when we lived in Arizona, one night I drove through a whole marching Army of black widows crossing the highway, it took my shivering spine a long time to settle down after that.

Holy smokes! I would be shivering too. I’ve never heard of such a thing!

I wouldn’t miss them either if we didn’t have them. Ugly!

After that happy frog fellow, even the spider was passable. 😀 Lovely greens, so relaxing. And you can always sit on an acorn and find yourself up in the tree eventually. 😉

Gee, never thought of that, but sounds fun to do! 😁
