~One To Three~

Happy New Year and Welcome to The Squirrel Chase.com’s One-to-Three Photo Processing Challenge for January 1, 2022. I have submitted the following three post-edit-processed photographs to share in the challenge. This time, using Topaz and Photoshop with adjustments thereto, the outputs are the results you see below.

Since one of January’s flowers is the Carnation, I will be posting a vase of them for this challenge with different degrees of post-processing.

Above, the Original Vase & Carnations Photograph

Into Topaz 2 with the filter Soft Sketch, the photo was processed with adjustments at 88%. There the process was applied and saved in its original filter form.

This was done with the 1940s Landscaping filter. The adjustments went from 65% to other adjustments in basic renders. Then saved like this.

I think the above is my personal favorite. It reminds me of withered paper with watercolor. This was done in Photoshop with exclusions on top of each other as masks. I used it as 100% and adjusted it until I like it. The final is what you see.

For more image fun, on the 365 Days blog, I will be posting a carnation image daily for the month of January which will kick the New Year off for the coming 365 days of 2022. Hope you join me there.

With that, if anyone just loves to create in post-processing, shoot on over to The Squirrel Chase.com once a month for this fun bit of sharing artful editing in post.

Until next month when three more renditions come, thanks for stopping in.

This is a fun challenge although I’m yet to join it – there always seem to be too many others I want to do! I like the middle version best, with the 1940s Landscaping treatment.

I see you’re doing the 365 challenge. I am too, but using Blipfoto (https://www.blipfoto.com/Toonsarah) which I read about on someone else’s blog. The downside is that non-members can’t comment it seems, so I plan to do a monthly retrospective on my main blog. Your idea of a separate blog for the challenge is a good one – I may copy if I decide to keep it up next year!

Yes, I started years ago just posting a photo a day. I’m not sure about that challenge but I think there’s one or two out there. Having it separate really helps with the volume of photos. I did a once a week retrospect a couple years ago and may do that next year, that does help if time is overwhelming. It’s just a passion to photograph so for myself I find blogging and photos calming. Thanks for stopping by! 😊

I like the first image. It looks like they have some kind of magical power.

      Yes, indeed…Photoshop! 🙂

I like the idea of the One Two Three challenge but don’t particularly want to be locked into making 3 different versions. Before and after is all I want to do. I’ll try it when I have a chance. I like your third one best. It might be interesting to see the flowers in pink rather than green. Easy enough to do in Photoshop.

I hope you do join in Sherry, I like you work. Yes, Photoshop has it all and is the normal go-to I think for most people. Coincidently, my husband bought me three bunches of carnations for the project on 365 and I used them here, they were pink, yellow, and green so that did show up on these. Thanks for stopping in and I look forward to a before and after 🙂
