For Denzil’s Nature Photo Challenge this week we have Birds Feeding and Drinking. Of course, I have bird feeders everywhere and it seems they prefer the flowers instead. Go figure. In the moment of feedings sometimes one or two hit the windows and this one became another patient of mine. They see the reflection of the trees and such and “boom” they hit. So, when the clunk is heard the emergency nest comes in handy.
This one hit hard and like most, after I pick them up, they shut their eyes for a while to hopefully rest and snap out of it. Sometimes it takes a good hour or so.

Birdie eventually did come out of the trauma and when alert went home to her own nest and kids.

Then below there is this guy who seems to visit more often these days. As you all know, I just love him and when he sees me now, he comes running. Here is Rave staring me down through the window of my desk room. Somehow, he intimidates me into a cup of coffee and bits for him to snack on *that is, coffee for me snacks for him*. Who can refuse that beautiful face. These are for Denzil’s Nature Photo Challenge #15 although I admit, I am the nature here sourcing his food snacks.

For those wondering, we have ordered a bamboo roll down to keep the birds from hitting the reflections of the window. We hope that will work.
Til next time…

Really great images. 😊
What a beautiful visitor to your garden! Beats the normal little brown birds any day!
Beautiful post! Reminds me of the time I had this one birdie who didn’t survive the crash 🙁. But I am so happy to see the one you revived with your care 🥰. And the peacock – that’s a nice friend to enjoy a tea/coffee with 😀.
so nice to see you post! i tried to comment on your previous posts to say hi but i see it closes off after a while. hope you are well.
and of course, beautiful amazing photos! id love to have a peacock buddy hehe
Thank you. I’m not sure why it closes off but I’ll check to see if there’s a timeline on them. Thanks for stopping in!
🙂💯👍 have a good weekend!
Beautiful bird photos. I always hated when the birds would crash into the window or glass door. So nice of you to see to them with an emergency nest. 🙂
Thank you, I don’t think they would have survived without it. I’m glad I have it too 😊
He’s a beautiful peacock! I’m glad that the little bird has snapped out of the shock, I’ve seen this happen too. It does take an hour or so, poor baby! ❤️
Its tough to see them in such bad shape because of a building. The guilt is huge, but it is the way here.
I agree, there are ways to make the bird not hit the window though. I’d have to look it up again, two birds have hit my bedroom window in the backyard in four years in this house. One eventually flew away, the other is buried in the backyard.
The nature of things… 😔
