For Denzil’s Nature Photo Challenge #25, he has asked us to gather up some photos of seedheads. In other words, plants that have pooped out for our viewing. Having to go to the post office in town I stopped by the Abbey which is right off the road and took some shots of their gardens of plenty.

These are of a geranium plant, and I just love the dancing fairy on the right. I will probably do something with it in photoshop for the fun of it.

I do not know what this is other than a Daisy of some sort? But I thought it was intriguing as the seeds were very hard and had whisps of little fairy swooshes all about them. I looked for name markers and there were none to be found so I have no information on the flower.

Drama was all over the gardens. These plants have long billowy seed-lets ready to be released for next year’s bloom. Again, I am not sure of what they are. However, most of the gardens here are drought tolerant for the area.

The roses are still at large in the gardens and smelled wonderful however, time is coming to a close for the last sprigs of these. California can have all year long rose gardens, but I am finding more so than ever they are fading away earlier in the season.
It is time for more plants to show the age of their season’s work and I hope you liked these little guys. They seem to be happy in the Abbey’s gardens. Below is a pic of the bell tower and water fountain. I did take more and will post in the future. I got involved with the double exposure of the plants and then…. it got hot so I skedaddled out of there.

All photos shot with Canon R6 / 24mm Macro lens.
Til next time…

Love your fairies Kathleen Jennette
Thank you Denzil, I think after tomorrow and this storm coming in the should be good for next year. ☺️
Gorgeous macros!
Thank you☺️
Kathleen, your photos are beautiful. The bokeh in some of them is stunning.
Thank you so much! 😊
A lovely outing. The geranium seeds were esp. awesome. The other two plants are calendula (officinalis) and butterfly weed (Asclepias tubersosa).
Thank you so much for that! I knew someone out there would probably know them thanks again!
My pleasure. 🙂
Wow, the photos are fantastic, Kathleen Jennette! I love the swirly things. 🥰
Thanks! We used to call them Fairies. We would blow and then make a wish. There are a lot about these days 🙂
It’s fun to watch them float away in the wind to wherever they go.❤️
That looks like a lovely garden and you’ve found some beautiful seedheads 🙂 I love your dancing fairy and look forward to seeing what you create with it (her?)!
Thank you, I am glad you like “her”. She’s a cutie…
