Finding out I needed a triple bypass wasn’t anything I ever wanted to hear. After three angiograms and one stent, it became clear my heart needed serious attention. I really didn’t have a choice—according to the doctor, it’s “severe.”
So, once again, I’ve gone a bit quiet here.

At this point, I can’t lift my Canon. Still, the Leica is light enough to use. I’ve been grateful for that. Cellzilla has come in handy too. Since the diagnosis, I’ve undergone more tests than I ever imagined. These include countless blood draws and more angiograms. I’m practically a pro at it now, even if I still dislike every bit of it.
Surgery is scheduled. In a few weeks, I’ll be wired up with a stitched chest. I will be working on recovery. I feel positive about it, even knowing it will take some time.
For now, I’ve decided to post a small choice via phone from Leica transfers. Once I’m in the hospital, I’ll have to see whether snapping a photo or two is even possible. There’s something oddly compelling about documenting this—being capable of saying later, “Yeah, that was me.” Crazy thoughts, I know.
The shock has worn off. Now I just want to get it done. One more stent beforehand, then the date with the surgeon.
On another matter, it is the holidays! So I am sending all a Happy Holiday to each of you and best wishes for a healthy New Year.

And as always, thanks for stopping by.
One more thing, when I say enjoy life, you better fucking at least try and enjoy it. Stop the whining and tears and go forth. This is it kiddos. Live it. Love it. Take it for what it is. Life.
Til next time,
Kathleen Jennette

Thank you!
Lulu: “We’re sorry you’re going through this health crisis! We’re glad it was caught before something happened, though ― we have firsthand experience with how it goes when that’s not the case!”
Chaplin: “Yes we do! We will be sending lots of purrs your way.”
Lulu: “And we dogs will be sending lots of tail wags.”
Charlee: “Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you!”
Java Bean: “¡Feliz navidad!”
Thanks to you beautiful herd of fur luvs! I wish I had my Mr. Murray. Just today I was wishing I could have his luvs for this. I would get much better faster if so. Now I have you to bark and purr for me. I hope you all have a luvly holiday and many snacks!
🤣🦶🦶
Tough news, KJ, hope all goes smoothly and wishing you a swift recovery. It does remind us of just how precious our days are. 🙏🏼 💕
I have had “tough” before but I think this will be the toughest. Thank you for the well wishes.
Oh my goodness – life does have a habit of throwing us curve balls, doesn’t it? I hope everything goes smoothly and you’re soon able to be out and about again
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas xx
Thank you Deborah. Wishing you a wonderful hoilday too and I am hoping by Spring I will be able to get to Scotland again,
Good luck to you, Kathleen Jennette. The image of your viewpoint looking down on your feet would get exhausting after a while. At least you took advantage of a pictorial opportunity to document your medical journey. I hope you’re on the upswing soon. :).
It seems the only thing to laugh at is the feet sticking out of the blanket waiting. As short as I am the bed was too short and I was hanging in there.
Oh my, that IS tough! Wishing you all the best for the surgery and beyond.
Thank you so much Anabel!
ooof, KT, I’m just now seeing this blog and learning of your news. from one with heart disease to another, I’m sending you lots of love and strength! may your recovery be swift and smooth! xx .. mq01
Thank you MQ. We must talk. I had no idea about your heart disease. You take care and one day we will catch up. We had some really good times, blogging on Blogger and riding our motorcycles.
Kathleen! I was wondering what is going on with you, haven’t seen a post from you for a while and now I know. Huge hugs for you and I have prayed for a great outcome for you. I recently had carotid artery surgery, the right side was 80% blocked, now I have a big scar on my neck but I’ll gladly take the scar. I hope that your Christmas is still great! I look forward to reading that you are home when the surgery is complete. Talk to you then! ❤️😎
I think we had our angioplastys the same time it seems? One thing after another is so hard to remember. You take care and thank you for the well wishes. Happy Christmas to you.
You are very welcome, Kathleen. 😊😊😊
