I just can’t seem to get away from ethereal type photography, or black and white for that matter. As I have written before, I have collected several Lensbaby lenses, miscellaneous tilts, and filters that fit on my cameras. I very much enjoy taking my time with this type of photography. Of course, one can snap and shoot it, but for myself, it is a part of becoming one with the subject in what I call “Storybook Blur”, so I take a bit more time with the poser in front of my chosen lens. This type of photography really makes me smile.
For Monochrome Monday I submit the photographs below shot with the Lensbaby Trio 28 which fits perfectly onto my mirrorless Canon R line cameras without an adapter. This is straight out of the camera using the Monochrome setting. It is also the first time I was seamlessly able to transfer photos to the Ultra S23 via Bluetooth from the camera. I love that for uploading on the go. My other Marks did not do that, and I now have an array of SSD card adapters that I can leave home. *Pfffftt… that tells you how far behind I am in making things simple*. It actually made it so simple to upload here to WP that I can leave the computer behind on most occasions.
Photography is all about loving the moment of taking the shot in my own way. Being one who never really asked for settings, etc. on photos, the learning curve has been a rush and with the changing tech in photography, sometimes a bit difficult. The moments of finding out that I am capable of achieving a shot ‘my way’ is really all it takes for a smile or an ‘ahh’. This line of lenses gives that to me. It is a bit of a blur… I like that too.
Sherry.
Was served mostly in lady parlors or after dinner. It has a sweet and nutty flavor (generally). The smaller glasses and decanter shown are from the mid 1800s and are still used today. (Mrs. Shecky uses it generously in stews and soups. It is very good that way.)
Antique Trolly or Bar Cart/Server.
This little cart is a favorite of mine to photograph, and I am not sure why. It just poses nicely with me. *Maybe it is because it has wheels and easily moved around* With the sun coming in from the background, the lens took the shot to a level of the ‘blur’ that contradicts the focus on the decanter. For some reason I liked that.
Poinsettia:
December birth flower.
Ancient times believed it to be a flower representing purity.
Today’s times consider it to be representing success, cheer and good times.
Urn. Decorative.
Again, the sun. I use the sun sometimes to my advantage. I know the rule is to shoot the opposite way, but I like this angle more often than less. Shadows are an important part of the darker mood that I tend to edge to in a photograph. Hence, this.
Urns.
This urn, in particular, is used just as decoration or a flower vase. Most urns represent a bleaker part of life, and that is, death. But modern times have brought collectors of antique urns to the interior design of homes and now they have become art to behold.

Sometimes we really have to reach back to how we love to shoot, and this *Storybook Blur* has always been a comfy place for me.
