Well, tonight we have the magnificent Beaver Moon rising here on the West Coast. The 800mm came off the shelf and the doors opened to the backyard. Donning my headlight I bought from the local hardware store, I braved it in my robe and cold air to shoot some pics after turning off all the lights. I felt like I was on an Amazonian expedition considering the sounds from the animals walking in the leaves until my slippers fell off when I realized there was something else out there and the robe was not a very good choice to run in and ditch it. But through it all, here are a couple of shots from the Canon R5 with the 800R mm lens.

So, there you go. Another beautiful evening and I was glad to enjoy the next to the last full moon of the year.

Wow, beautiful. I don’t have the right lens for close up moons anymore and could only take phone pictures. Our Beaver Moon in northern UK had a halo round it.
How beautiful that must have been to see that! Yes, when I first got this lens I thought I would just use it for birds and such in the garden, I seem to catch the moon more than the quick flying birds.

Great lunar images, Kathleen. The craters on the right side of the moon are amazingly defined considering how far away it is. Thank you for sharing them. 🙂
