For today’s Monochrome Monday I have a tad of this and that taken from the past few uploads from Instagram’s #The100DayProject which is 100 days of whatever you choose to post. My theme for there is using Lensbaby lenses for 100 days. – I am on day 23. *Yikes! *. I explained a bit on the lens’s effects for a couple of peeps who have asked me. I am not sponsored or anything like that, I just like the lenses used here so I thought I would do a little show and tell of the last 4 lenses used.

The leaf branch above was shot with the Lensbaby 56 lens. Playing with the f/stop setting on this lens give anything from very soft as the above, or to a very focused focal point with blurred edges. It is all how you use it and can vary with the f/stop. This is the lens that is on my camera most of the time other than my Canon 100mm.

The above photo was shot in the desert. It was taken with the newest Lensbaby Lens the Sweet 22. No adjustments were made on the effects in this photo. What you are seeing is the lens and its actions. For myself, this means no Lightroom or Photoshop time and I like that knowing if I only have to crop or straighten the shot, I have saved loads of time to, well, to take more photos and put my feet up of course! *😁*.

Being used here is the Lensbaby Trio 28. I think I have said this before, but this is a unique lens and fun to use as it has 3 lenses in one. In addition to have 3 lenses on one, between the focal points another creative version of your shot can be made. The above is a result of being ‘between’ the settings of Velvet and Sweet. I had one person ask me what the photo was of, and it is a photo of one of my bronze garden parrots. It has that moody feel I like and may not be everyone’s cup of tea but, again, I like to feel the photo first then take the shot. Thats just something in me. Call it weird but, it is why I love photography – every shot is different even though it can be all the same.
Lastly, here is a group of photos of a palm tree. Again, I was asked about the Sol 45 in comparison to the Sweet 22, and for the lack of descriptive words for the working parts of lens, I thought I would just take some shots and show them starting with the 3 below which depicts the background blur based upon the little gadgets inside the lens. I call them ‘gadgets’ because I just don’t know the name, but basically what the 2 gadgets do are to change the blur a bit.

Then the lens itself can be unlocked and turned in full direction of your creative choice. Below are sides, and up and down samples of the same tree.

Hope you all are doing well. ICMPC is this Thursday and looking forward to that.
Be creative. Til next time…

Really lovely and interesting effects – I especially like the desert Sweet 22 shot. I can see how this would save a lot of editing time! However I’m happier not having to carry different lenses or thinking about which to use, so I guess I’ll stick to my bridge camera and editing tools 😆
Thank you and yes, that’s one way to look at it. Personally, I just pick and go and leave it that way, otherwise, it may drive me crazy trying to choose. The small Trio works well for those occasions and a nifty 50, that’s my norm for travel-small and convenient. At home, it doesn’t matter. If I was a constant traveler like you, I’d probably still only have my point and shoot. It takes great photos. 😁
Those lenses create such beautiful effects. I loved these photos.
Yes, they sure do. Thank you so much Egidio!
Splendid effect. 🙂
Thank you, Nancy, I do really like those lenses.
Amazing photos, Kathleen Jennette! ❤️
Thanks John!
You are welcome! 😊
