I went on a cruise. A local cruise for just a few days, and I think the water is just what I needed. It is everyone’s 70th birthday this year in our group so we got on board a ship and went to celebrate on the water.
As usual I can’t sleep past 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. most days of the week and that included the cruise so, I stepped out to see what tales were to be found. Except for the lights on board, it was almost pitch black.
This was the first jogger around 5:15 a.m.

One of the aft decks was full of color. I liked this one in both black and white and color, but my love of noir decided to take the multitude of design and color to one tone.

This is the showroom, at least one of them. The ship has a lot going on and entertainment is the goal. In the morning, no one was there so the light-colored leathered chairs with the above lights helped me choose this blue monotone for the photo.

Then, of course, it was my turn to have a cup and a table with a view was in order.

I shot these with the Canon R5 24-240mm lens, Samsung S23 Ultra, and iPhone 15.
Til next time…

Very nice Photo’s!
Lovely capture of the multiple shades of black and white. The details in your images seem more apparent without the distraction of vibrant colors. 🙂
Excellent monochromes!
Thank you Egidio😊
They are a lot of fun. I tend not to do too much entertainment because I do like to just sit and roam and people watch, and I do love the water. But I would recommend it. It has a something for everyone.
Getting up early has paid off for these shots, it’s almost haunting to see the ship so quiet!
They say to get there before anyone else. It is a magical time, even without a camera. I like the solitude.
A very nice collection, well done B&W. 👏👏👏.
Thank you very much 🙂
I’m glad that you had a great time, Kathleen! I’ve been on two cruises years ago, it was so fun!
