I have been working on this image for a while. I am done… I think 🙂
This was taken on a solo motorcycle ride I made for the bucket list. I went up Highway 1 from Southern California up to Oregon. Rode through the Redwoods and Rogue River then ended up visiting friends in Shady Creek, Oregon. They took me on a wonderful expedition of the area there and I came back with some great memories. Riding solo was something I very much enjoyed as I was able to stop and go as I please to shoot images and just listen to the moments of road and enjoy the nature that California and Oregon have.
Naming it “Oz” was easy after adding masks, masks, and more masks then contrasts and such. I expect the Wicked Witch to come out for Halloween soon in this photo. In all, I wish I could live there, really, I do… far-far away, but I think that’s another fairy tale.

This was shot on Canon 60D. At the time it is all I had other than the G7X. Cameras have developed so much in just a few years. Today I have the Canon R5II which serves me very well and is a lot lighter than the previous cameras I have owned. The older I get the lighter I want things, but I still take a load with me, go figure. I am hoping for a Leica in the future for my black and whites. I use the film cameras for that now and love them, but I am still ‘thunking the thoughts… ‘ *cwazzee me*
I hope you liked OZ for Monochrome Monday and thanks for stopping in.
Til next time…

Nicely shown in black and white. So much character in the building and in the sky.
Thank you, this house was a great subject.
Charlee: “And your little dog, too!”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, wait, what?!”
Everyone can come! We can all stick our heads out the windows!
So very atmospheric!
Awesome! There maybe a twister forming in the far distance!
Beautiful!!
Thank you Nora 😊
The home looks very cute and cozy, Kathleen! I would enjoy a quick tour of the property. Great photo! ❤️
This is a lovely old house in the wilderness. It’s so well defined. A push mower by the corner of the porch is even visible. Well done! 🙂
It had so many items and I just loved it. I don’t know who lived there. But they must be happy. Thank you!
Beautiful and expertly edited!
Thank so much. It seemed to take me awhile to be happy with it. 😊
Nice contrast!
Nice! Love. Happy Monochrome Monday!
Thank you 🙂
