The tones, shadows, curves, minimalism and shapes – and brands – of an upmarket mall well captured.
Malls are very interesting. Filled with people and structure. I am happy you like the photos. Thanks for stopping by!
What time of day was it?
It was around lunchtime, and the sun was shining brightly through the windows. That mall is usually packed with people, especially on hot days. Honestly, I dreaded going but needed to return something. To my surprise, the parking lot had plenty of spaces, and most of the mall, including the carousel area, wasn’t crowded at all. The light inside was fantastic, but the vacant stores? Not so much.
The shadows cast in your pictures were eye-catching. I think the lack of people gave the images somewhat of a haunting impression. 👻
The video was a good depiction of all malls-the escalator, the cavernous ceilings, the long corridors. Loved it! 🙂
Thanks Nancy, except not to many people. Sad.
Great photos, Kathleen!! It’s good to know that malls are still around. They were so popular in the 1980s…
I’m not sure how much longer. Since Trump, they are really emptying. Ma and Pa shops are too. Its very sad and disgraceful.
I don’t think the president has anything to do with that…
He does. Tarriffs, kidnappings, farm to home, economy. We have noticed it a lot in the last few months and a more in the last few weeks. He does.
Human architecture well seen, Kathleen. Malls are great on a hot day, and boy has it been hot!
