Inspiration comes to me from all directions when I photograph. One is using the camera for Intentional Blur. I love the artistic visual outcome from just a twist of the wrist. It is not hard to do, but there is a trick, and that is to be short and quick with the camera movement. This photo below was done right before a hawk took flight. With the quickness of his wings and the blur, the colors blended well together.

Taking that to another level in software programs was another jump on a sleepless night. Sometimes playing with the photos relax me and this photo was perfect for that dark dreamy look I like when I do go Wack-A-Doodle in software programs.

These will be used for backgrounds in my journals and books that I make. Thats a Mrs. Shecky story but I do use them, so having fun making them is important to me.

But now, I want to show you what I was shooting. I have a couple of these on the property. I will post my Hawk pics in another post (I actually thought I had already *woops*). But this is what I love about Intentional Blur. There is a story behind it.

Photography can be challenging, but it is a lot of fun too. I hope you enjoy all aspects of it. My take on that is – if it becomes not fun, I am done.

Til next time,

Kathleen Jennette

Great effects, both the ICM and later manipulations. Like you I can easily get very absorbed in playing with image editing but I’ve not really experimented much with ICM. It’s definitely something I’d like to do more of in the future. Can I ask what shutter speeds you tend to use?

Thank you! Indeed, I should have posted. The original IB photo is: f/11, 1/30 sec. ISO-250 800mm lens.
The Hawk photo is: f/11, 1/1000 sec, ISO-16000 with an 800mm lens. In a way all that doesn’t matter. Just take a photo of the colors you want to see. You will soon find a niche with it and go for it. Have fun!
